Description: This series provides an overview of basic federal labor law, from practice and procedure before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to unfair labor practices and union organizing.

Part 1: Practice and Procedure Before the National Labor Relations Board (February 4) This session will take you through practice and procedure before the NLRB, including board structure, jurisdiction, certification proceedings, unfair labor practice proceedings, remedies, and appeals. Part 2: Unfair Labor Practices (February 11) This session will deal with management and union unfair labor practices (ULPs). Management ULPs include unlawful coercion and restraint, domination and interference, discrimination, and bad-faith bargaining. Union ULPs include unlawful coercion and restraint, discrimination, and breach of the duty of fair representation. Secondary activity and picketing also are covered. Faculty: Ellen O.
