Nuts and Bolts of Employment Discrimination Law With Recent Case Updates

Description: Learn the basics of employment discrimination law with recent case updates from the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.  This course is designed to teach you how to prove and defend a discrimination claim.  The instructors will focus on the elements of proof under the relevant federal statutes such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act; the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA); the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA); the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA); and the Pregnancy Discrimination Act (PDA).  The course will not focus on proving damages.  Topics will include:

Disparate treatment (race, gender, national origin, religion, age, disability, pregnancy)

Retaliation

Harassment - Hostile work environment

Reasonable Accommodations under The ADAAA
