Description: This highly acclaimed course will address the connection between substance abuse and ethical violations. It will offer practical advice and explore considerations for managing partners and employers when dealing with substance abuse by attorneys. Faculty will examine the rules related to addiction issues in bar disciplinary proceedings and key cases involving addiction. This course also will help you understand the role of the profession in assisting lawyers who are substance abusers. It will examine the causes and medical nature of the problem, as well as prevention, detection, and treatment alternatives for attorneys.
