Credit: 6.5 Credit Hours, Including 1.0 Ethics Credit Hour
Description: This highly-acclaimed course on appellate advocacy in the federal courts features the consumers and producers of appellate advocacy. The course is designed as an introduction to appellate advocacy, featuring practical advice from the experts. Judges will discuss their perspectives and point out pitfalls and common mistakes that attorneys make. Experienced lawyers will share some of their tactics for successful brief writing and oral argument. Representatives from the Clerk's Office and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Program will provide useful information on the function of those offices. Legal ethics issues relating to appellate advocacy also will be discussed. Attendance is limited to 120 registrants.
