Description: The new DUI law for the District of Columbia, the Comprehensive Impaired Driving Act of 2012, became effective on August 1, 2012. The new law is a major overhaul of the DUI law, providing stiffer penalties, reinstating the breath alcohol testing for suspected drunken drivers, and giving prosecutors additional tools in court if repeat offenders refuse a BAC test. Learn the law and how the new procedures will be implemented in the District of Columbia. In addition, you will learn about pre-arrest screening, how to administer field sobriety tests, and possible defenses to impaired driving cases.
