Immigration Law Practice Clinic: Immigrant Visas This new class will provide hands-on training on how to prepare, file, and apply for key U.S. immigrant visas.  The class is designed for someone who knows the basics of immigration law, but would like more information on the process, the law, and the strategy.  You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals the ins and outs of the process including how to prepare and file a PERM  labor certification case; step-by-step guidance on how to prepare multinational managers/executives, extraordinary ability and outstanding researchers,  and “national interest” petitions; and the process for adjustment of status in the U.S. or abroad.  You will learn about these key issues and more:

EB2 vs EB3 - what are the qualifications for each category

Filing a prevailing wage determination

Layoffs - how do they affect the PERM process?

Preparing and responding to an audit

How to assess the best immigrant visa classification for your client

How to assist your client in gathering information and evidence to demonstrate eligibility

When to file your client's immigrant visa petition, including the advisability of seeking premium processing

The most common reasons USCIS issues Requests for Evidence and strategies on how to respond

How seeking an immigrant visa may impact your client's nonimmigrant status

The decision to file concurrently for adjustment of status: pros and cons
