7th Annual Legends of the D.C. Bar - Abbe Lowell/Billy Martin, Moderator Jeffrey Berger

Famed D.C. lawyers Abbe Lowell and Billy Martin team up to share their insights and experiences at the 7th annual Legends of the D.C. Bar program and luncheon.  They will discuss, in an informal format, law practice, business development, public service, and living fulfilled lives as lawyers.  The program provides a rare opportunity to learn about lives well spent in the law from highly respected private practitioners at the top of their game.

Abbe Lowell, with Chadbourne & Parke, LLP, focuses on litigation, special investigations and regulatory enforcement.   His high profile clients include Governor Jim Gibbons, Senator Robert Torricelli, Reps. Gary Condit, Charlie Wilson, Walter Fauntroy, and Harold Ford, Jack Abramoff, Sam Waksal, Gene Phillips, Steven Seagal, Sean Combs, and others.  He was counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Chief Minority Counsel during the Clinton Impeachment Proceedings, Special Counselor to the U.N. Billy Martin, with Dorsey & Whitney, represents major corporations and high-profile individuals in civil and criminal litigation.  Mr. Martin's clients have included NBA players Allen Iverson and Jayson Williams, Monica Lewinsky during the Clinton impeachment hearings, Chandra Levy's parents, NFL player Michael Vick, Atlanta Mayor Bill Campbell, George Washington University basketball star Attila Cosby, heavyweight boxing champion Riddick Bowe, Actor Wesley Snipes, and Senator Larry Craig. Billy Martin spent 15 years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in various cities and his federal service included the supervision of major political and organized crime grand jury investigations.  Mr. Martin is the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award from both Howard University and University of Cincinnati College of Law.
