Our experienced panel will discuss correcting errors in 401(a), 403(b), and 457 plans. The panel will discuss the Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) recent guidance (Rev. Proc. 2013-12) and practical considerations, such as types of errors; whether and when to correct; whether to self-correct or file under Voluntary Correction Plan (VCP); what to do when IRS guidance does not have a recipe for correcting your error; and what to do when the IRS’s recipe is not practical.
This luncheon program is sponsored by the Employee Benefits Committee of the Taxation Section.
