- Description

Come hear a distinguished panel of attorneys address the environmental and energy cases before the Supreme Court in the current term as well as look back at key recent developments and trends. These developments include the recent grant of certiorari (cert) in two Clean Water Act cases and two Fifth Amendment takings cases; the recent denial of certiorari in important Clean Air Act cases and in a case challenging the Clinton-era roadless rule; the Court's increasing reliance on "Call for the Views of the Solicitor General" (CVSG) orders seeking the views of the United States in important environmental and natural resources cases; recent decisions from last term concerning criminal fines in environmental cases, pre-enforcement review under the Clean Water Act, and the definition of “navigability” for purposes of the equal footing doctrine; pending cert petitions of interest; and more.
This brown bag luncheon program is sponsored by the Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Section, in cosponsorship with the Administrative Law and Agency Practice Section, Courts, Lawyers and the Administration of Justice Section, ABA Section of Environment, Energy and Resources Young Lawyers Division, ABA Section of Environment, Energy and Resources Litigation Division, and Federal Bar Association Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
