What does the outcome of the 2012 Presidential and Congressional elections mean for federal energy and environmental policy? Although clean energy, renewable energy, energy efficiency and “green” jobs played a minor role in the election, they were largely overshadowed by economic and fiscal issues. Will this change in the 113th Congress? What environmental and energy legislation might be enacted? What impact will budget issues have? Will the Obama Administration pursue a carbon tax to address climate change (and raise new revenues)? What role will Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) take? Will the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) assume a higher profile? Will the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) be transferred to the Department of the Interior? Come hear two distinguished D.C.-based journalists - one from the National Journal and the other from Politico -- address these and other issues.
This brown bag luncheon program is sponsored by the Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Section, in cosponsorship with the Administrative Law and Agency Practice Section, Government Contracts and Litigation Section, International Law Section, Law Practice Management Section and Real Estate, Housing and Land Use Section.
