Antonio de Lecea, Minister-Principal Advisor for Economic and Financial Affairs for the Delegation of the European Union (E.U.) to the United States, and Richard Gaffin, Senior International Advisor, from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency will provide a high-level comparison of the efforts to strengthen bank regulation in the European Union and the United States. For example, these experts in bank regulatory policy will describe initiatives of the European Commission and the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision to reform capital policy and revise principles for supervision of banking organizations and financial conglomerates.
