Attorney-Client Privilege and Work Product Doctrine, Practical Guide to
These materials will explore perhaps the most important legal doctrine with which any lawyer must be familiar -- the attorney-client privilege. Lawyers face privilege issues nearly every time they communicate, and this set of materials will focus on the types of communications in which lawyers are most likely to engage. Basic Estate Planning Series
The course materials (three parts) from this series focus on estate planning in the District of Columbia. The first volume covers estate planning considerations for a single person or couple with an estate valued at less than the unified credit equivalent amount (presently $1 million). It contains information about will drafting and includes a sample will, sample trust agreement, and sample power-of-attorney documents. Estate planning issues of concern to married couples with a combined taxable estate ranging between $2 million and $5 million are addressed in volume two. A sample will and samples of a preresiduary outright marital bequest and residuary bypass trust are included. Essential Trial Skills Series

Well-prepared witnesses and persuasive direct examinations (or the lack of them) can make or break your case at trial. Program materials cover the vital task of preparing your witnesses to testify credibly at trial. It also will examine techniques and strategies for effective direct examination, maximizing your witness’ potential, and minimizing his or her weaknesses. Legal ethics issues in the context of witness preparation and direct examination are discussed throughout the volume.

Part IV: Cross-Examination
These course materials highlight how to use cross-examination to tell your story, to control the witness and to impeach the witness.
