Help for Individuals

Free Divorce Clinic

After more than two decades of service to the community, we have discontinued the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center's Pro Se Plus Divorce and Custody Clinics. When the Pro Se Plus Divorce Clinic and the Pro Se Plus Custody Clinic opened, few options existed for individuals who required help filing a divorce or custody complaint without the assistance of counsel. Since that time, numerous programs developed to provide assistance and advice to pro se family law litigants.

For assistance:

Visit the free Family Court Self-Help Center located in the D.C. Superior Court –500 Indiana Ave., N.W., Room JM-570, M–F from 8:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.

Or visit the free Advice & Referral walk-in clinic held the second Saturday of each month from 10 a.m.–noon at both locations of Bread for the City 1525 7th St. NW and 1640 Good Hope Road SE.
