Also at the reception, the D.C. Bar Foundation will present its 2010 Jerrold Scoutt Prize for exceptional service. This year the Bar Foundation has given a joint prize to co-recipients Eric Angel, Legal Director for the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia (Legal Aid) and Vytas Vergeer, Legal Clinic Director for Bread for the City, for their collaborative efforts to reform pro bono tenant representation in the D.C. Superior Court Landlord and Tenant Branch.
The Scoutt Prize, named in honor of Jerrold Scoutt, Jr., a founding partner of Zuckert, Scoutt & Rasenberger LLP, is awarded annually to an attorney employed full time with a legal service provider in the Washington area.
For D.C. Bar members and all conference participants, the Judicial Reception is free to attend. The evening will include complimentary hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, and live music performed by the talented Jazz Barristers.
