Criminal Law and Individual Rights

The Community sponsors educational and practice-building programs in the areas of criminal law and protection of individual rights. On occasion, the Criminal Law and Individual Rights Community comments on pending or proposed legislation, court rule changes, and other matters of interest within the community’s areas of expertise.

Past Community activities have included:

  • sponsoring brown-bag lunch programs, panel discussion, and individual speakers addressing current developments in the law.
  • offering publications for purchase to aid in members’ practice of law
  • organizing activities designed to benefit D.C. residents by improving awareness of individuals’ legal rights and responsibilities under the law.
