Static Content Generated on Authoring Server Only

If your Authoring server also acts as the production server (without replicating to a read-only production server), you will need to set up two (2) “virtual host” http servers -- one to handle the static content and one to handle the dynamic content.

In our example site, we would direct all dynamic content to www1.example.com, while the static content would be directed to www.example.com. The virtual host http server would map the following:

www.example.com

This server name would be configured to handle request for the static pages.

www1.example.com

This server name would be configured to handle requests for the dynamic pages.
