Registration Policy

Event Cancellation and Refund Policy 

Subject to the exceptions noted below, a refund of an event registration fee will be issued if the D.C. Bar receives a written cancellation notice two or more business days before the event date.  A cancellation fee of $20 will be assessed. 

For CLE events, please send an email to cle@dcbar.org.  For Communities events, please email communitiesregistration@dcbar.org. If a request for a refund is received fewer than two business days before the event date, a refund will not be issued. A registrant may elect to have another person attend the event as a substitute, in lieu of requesting a refund. If the registration price for the substitute is higher than the fee paid on behalf of the original registrant, the substitute registrant will pay the difference. See the Substitution Policy below. 

Refunds will not be issued for D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center training events, or for D.C. Bar events with registration fees of $20 and under.  A registrant for a Pro Bono Center training event may elect to have another person attend as a substitute if the registrant provides 24 hours advance notice via email to probonotraining@dcbar.org

Substitution Policy 

Except as noted, substitutions of attendees are permitted for paid registrations. Any difference in fees between member and non-member rates will be due at the event. Event registrations that are based on D.C. Bar Communities membership are not eligible for substitutions under this policy.
