About the Practice Management Advisory Service
The Practice Management Advisory Service (PMAS) is a free and confidential service of the D.C. Bar that provides practice management information and resources to D.C. Bar members. The PMAS is a multifaceted program staffed by two Bar employees: Daniel M. Mills, assistant director for the PMAS and Rochelle D. Washington, senior staff attorney for the PMAS, who have over 35 years of combined experience practicing as solos and managing a small firm practice. Mr. Mills and Ms. Washington assist D.C. Bar members in all aspects of practice management, including financial management, client relations and communication, business planning, office technology, and office systems and procedures such as calendar and docketing systems. By improving management practices, the PMAS seeks to improve the practice of law and the delivery of legal services to the community. The PMAS is overseen by the Practice Management Service Committee, a standing committee of the District of Columbia Bar.
