Lawyer Assistance Program

Mental Health Support Group

LAP Support Group

A safe and confidential place for D.C. Bar members to exchange ideas about coping with anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues.

The new FREE service is designed for those who would benefit from working with a group in a supportive environment. The group is facilitated by a Lawyer Assistance Program (LAP) counselor who is a licensed clinical social worker. Discussion may be general or may revolve around issues identified by the facilitator or as requested by a participant. Enrollment is ongoing, and new members can begin attendance after speaking with the facilitator. Group size will be limited to ensure participants sufficient time to meet their needs.

The group meets the second Tuesday of every month at 12:15 p.m. at a downtown Washington, D.C. location.

If you believe this group may be right for you or would like more information, call the LAP at (202) 347-3131 or e-mail us at lap@dcbar.org.
