Get an Inside Look at Lobbying in the District

Think you have what it takes to be a lobbyist? Join Caren Z. Turner, chief executive officer of Turner Government & Public Affairs, to hear “A Day in the Life of a Government Relations Lawyer” on July 10.

With more than 25 years of experience in government relations, Turner, dubbed by CBS TV as a “woman on a mission,” will speak about her real-life practical experiences, from common client relations issues to the unknown challenges attorneys may face as they transition to lobbying.

Participants also will have the opportunity to hear the tricks of the trade on networking opportunities, establishing a client base, and typical practice mistakes.

The course takes place from 12 to 2 p.m. at the D.C. Bar Conference Center, 1101 K Street NW, first floor. Register now.

The “A Day in the Life of” program is part of the D.C. Bar Practice Management Advisory Service’s “Small Firm Lunch and Learn Series,” which covers topics of interest to members who are starting, managing, or growing their law firms in the District of Columbia.
