Bar Seeks Candidates for NEW D.C. Bar Communities Committee

April 17, 2017

D.C. Bar Communities

On April 11 the D.C. Bar Board of Governors approved a proposal to re-envision the Bar’s Sections as the D.C. Bar Communities. The new Communities will strengthen the program by expanding member benefits and increasing networking opportunities, while maintaining focus on practice-specific career development.

With the launch of the new D.C. Bar Communities on July 1, the Bar is putting out a call for active members interested in serving on the Communities Committee. The committee will provide guidance for the administration, programs, and projects of the Communities.

Read a detailed description of the D.C. Bar Communities Committee and its responsibilities.

Interested candidates must submit a biography and a letter of interest by April 28 to the Bar’s Executive Office at

Note: The new Communities Committee will not affect the current Sections’ election process for fiscal year 2017–18. Elected officers will continue to fill the open steering committee seats this year. If appointed to the Communities Committee, existing steering committee terms must be resigned.
