Comment on Candidates for Reappointment and Senior Judge Status

The D.C. Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure invites comments on the qualifications of one judge who is seeking reappointment to another 15-year term, and one judge who is retiring and seeking a recommendation for an initial appointment as a senior judge. The deadline for comments is March 9.

The D.C. Commission on Judicial Disabilities and Tenure is reviewing the qualifications of the following D.C. Superior Court Judges:

Judge Fern Flanaghan Saddler
Judge Frederick H. Weisberg

Judge Saddler is seeking reappointment to another 15-year term as an Associate Judge upon the expiration of her term on June 30, 2018.

Judge Weisberg is retiring and is seeking a recommendation for an initial appointment as a Senior Judge.

The Commission invites comments from the bench, bar, and the general public regarding the qualifications of the two Judges to continue their judicial service. Comments may be submitted via email or in writing to the Commission’s office at

In addition, comments may be submitted by an online survey available on the Commission’s website, or by using the direct link for Judge Saddler, and the direct link for Judge Weisberg.

All comments must be received by Friday, March 9. The identity of any person submitting comments will be kept confidential, unless the commenter authorizes the disclosure of his or her name.
